Schroeder Asphalt resurfaced the Metra Parking Lot between Washington and Lehigh (see pictures below) on Saturday August 29th, thereby minimizing the inconvenience to commuters.

The Resurfacing Program is nearing completion! Landscapers will return to finish grading and install the sod in the next few weeks. The second phase of the Minor Area Resurfacing Strategy (MARS) Program will likely start on September 10th (weather permitting) at various locations throughout the Village and will be completed within 5 working days.

Phase 2 of the Minor Area Repair Strategy (MARS) Program is scheduled to begin next week. This includes the milling and paving of the worst areas on some streets throughout the Village. The placement of sod along the streets already paved will be done in September to avoid hot summer weather.

Work is almost completed for the 2009 MFT Resurfacing Program! The paving on the resurfaced streets is completed and only sodding remains to be finished. There will be more Minor Area Repair Strategy (MARS) patching done in August. The program is designed to patch the worst pavement areas on selected streets and provide an improved ride surface until the next planned full roadway resurfacing/reconstruction project.

Construction is continuing on schedule. Landscaping started this week. This includes areas around new concrete and any areas disturbed by construction. The paving of the surface lift (top layer) of asphalt will be scheduled shortly. Prior to surfacing, the streets will be swept and a tack coat of oil will be applied. This tack drys within an hour; however, we advise drivers to avoid vehicle use on the tack coat as it dries.

Construction is continuing on schedule except for the storm sewer installation on Overlook Drive, which is only partially completed due to a conflict with an existing gas service line. Milling on Springdale & Highland Terrace is schedule to occur on Wednesday, July 8th. Harvest and Willow will also be milled later this week. Paving (weather dependent) is planned to start on Thursday. All concrete work has been completed.

The 2009 MFT resurfacing project is continuing close to schedule. The underground work on storm water and sanitary structures is complete on all streets except Overlook, which should be done by June 25th. That work is being done by Maneval Construction. Globe Concrete is scheduled back on Monday, June 29th to complete the concrete gaps on various streets. Schroeder Asphalt is scheduled to be back after the 4th of July to continue it's milling and resurfacing of the remaining streets. They have already completed milling and installed binder lift on Dorothy, Janet and Phillips. These three streets also had new high flow structures installed (top left photo) to help alleviate some of the storm water problems.

Construction Update

The contractor began work on Wednesday, June 3rd. You may see numerous different crews throughout Glenview working on different items. The main contractor is doing road patches. Two sub-contractors are working on curb removal and storm and sanitary repairs.

All crews have signs on either side of their work area, so please be careful as you come upon a crew. On the busy streets, flaggers are present to assist you on your drive. Barricades have been placed in the areas where curb was removed, but caution should still be taken.
